The GM5 is found in 3 Series between 1998 and 2005, Z4 between 2002 and 2008, ZE all years and X3 between 2003 and 2010.
In general they all use the GM5, but, there are many different part numbers.

Yes, the car will still run and drive fine without the general module. You will lose a few things like power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, remote boot release, interior lights, windscreen wipers and alarm.
So if you need to drive it while using our fast repair service you can for a short time – however without windscreen wipers we wouldn’t recommend it.
