• Are your BMW door locks not working correctly?

  • Having trouble getting the doors unlocked?

  • Is your boot not releasing properly?

  • Have you had to ask passengers to climb in through the driver’s side or even through a window?

If you have one of the following BMW’s:

3 Series between 1998 and 2005, Z4 between 2002 and 2008, ZE all years and X3 between 2003 and 2010

then the problem is probably the General Module (GM) which on these vehicles is known as the GM5 (or GM3 or GM4).

The GM5 controls the power window control (which makes the window go up and down), remote entry (via the key fob and central locking button) the boot release, alarm, interior lights and windscreen wipers. Removing the GM5, (GM3 or GM4) will mean that none of the above work, replacing it will be costly; the most economical and quickest way to solve the problem is to use Cartronics fast repair service.
